Lactobacillus acidophilus

Lactobacillus acidophilus is a type of bacteria found in your intestines. It’s a member of the Lactobacillus genus of bacteria, and it plays an important role in your overall health.  They make lactic acid by breaking down carbohydrates, which is primarily done by breaking down the sugar lactose in milk.  L. acidophilus helps put good bacteria into the intestines.   Whether it’s obtained through foods or supplements, L. acidophilus can provide a variety of health benefits including boosting the immune system, promoting weight loss, improving symptoms associated with IBS, and preventing and reducing diarrhea.
